Born in Anchorage, Alaska, this Army brat has lived in eight different states and jump started her career selling auto insurance to military personnel. Karen is always ready with a risk management presentation and has been a top producer for the Nexus team in the recent years. She is a problem solver by nature and enjoys tackling new challenges — both professionally and personally. Karen started distance running later in life, crossing the finish line at marathons in Savannah, Rome, Barcelona and Chicago. She and her husband, Doug, are the parents of two sons, and grandparents of four grandchildren.

You can catch him in the early mornings, holed up in a local coffee shop, sipping tea and focusing on a contract review or company project. Stephen is a relationship builder by nature; his top Strength is Developer so he sees nothing but potential in others and likes to invest in their growth. He is a voracious reader and podcast junkie, regularly sharing introspective conversations about a wide array of topics with colleagues and clients alike. She is passionate about representing her clients and enjoys days that include a mix of risk management, knowledge sharing, and relationship building. You’ll likely find an organized To Do list on Anita’s desk — this insurance veteran’s top Strength is Discipline meaning she finds ways to bring order, structure and efficiency to the world around her. If Anita could add a superpower, mind reading would give her an additional leg up to be even more proactive for her clients. She and her husband, Lenny, have two daughters and a granddog.

Meet Barb. A New Jersey native, graduate of Northwestern “Go Cats!”, Director of Client Engagement and Risk Management, Barb joined IMCI in 2020. With 35+ years in the insurance industry, Barb has earned the nickname Big Sister as she is always looking to offer words of wisdom and sound advice for clients and colleagues. With a BA in Mathematics, Barb was attracted to working with A&E firms as her degree intersected nicely with design. A full day for Barb would include a hike along the C&O canal, hearing a client say “Thanks! That’s really helpful”, and raising funds for her favorite nonprofits. Always looking at the sweeter side of life, her first job was working at a family-owned store and getting paid in candy and ice cream. Good luck reaching Barb on June 20th as it’s likely she and her husband, Craig, will be enjoying the longest day of the year with Ruthie their English Pointer.

Douglas Farber

Meet Doug. Native of North Jersey, graduate of Emory University and University of Nebraska, Account Manager at IMCI, and self-proclaimed Escaped Attorney and Insurance Geek. Doug practiced commercial law for 16 years before shifting to the insurance space as an underwriter for the security industry. He loves days that are packed with new business and renewal quotes and never shies away from a negotiation that gives clients the best coverage and price. Doug uses time outside the office to mentor young people and spend time with his family. He and his wife, Rosetta, have two daughters, one granddaughter, and a Chinese Shar Pei.

She has spent her professional career in the financial services sector, supporting large and small business clients. Carmen shifted from banking to insurance in 2019 when she joined IMCI, desiring a fresh start to expand her skill set with a close-knit team. When she’s not in the office, boating on Lake Norman is her favorite place to be. She and husband Jonathan have a daughter, a son, and a dog, Peanut.

Nancy Bell

Meet Nancy. A native of St. Petersburg, FL, graduate of Auburn University, Account Manager at IMCI, and affectionately known as the Energizer Bunny, Nancy joined the team in 2020. Her work ethic, sense of accountability, problem-solving skills, and passion for helping others has been integral for Nancy’s 30+ year success in the insurance industry. Our resident bibliophile, Nancy has maintained a handwritten journal of every book she has read from the 5th grade to today. On a given Saturday there is a high likelihood that you will find Nancy out hiking, exploring the beauty and serenity of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Once teleportation is no longer science fiction, she will frequently use it to visit her two children and grandkids.

Meet Linda. Native of Baltimore, Maryland, attendee of Towson University, and Account Executive for Nexus Premier. Working in the insurance world for nearly 30 years means there is rarely a complex insurance issue that Linda can’t solve. Her attention to detail is loved by clients and colleagues alike, and that (sometimes elusive) ideal day is one where she can accomplish everything she set out to when the day began. Linda loves the balance of working in an office but with a lot of contact with the outside world. She and her dog, Gretchen Libby, and cat, Biddy, can often be found curled up in front of a good Disney movie.

She enjoys being in an ever-evolving profession where there is always something new to learn. Stacey challenges herself to have a “perfect” day, where she can answer all coverage questions and review contracts without outside assistance.
